Reflection

— Gray Cup, c. 2006. Mirrored Alloy.

The vessel's intent is to allow the user to contemplate their true self while drinking. The fully mirrored perpendicular disc intersecting the cup provide a glimpse of the user throughout use.

Born of excess, and focused on eliciting a heuristic response, the mirrored glass itself becomes an instrument for internal change. The reflection creates internal dialogue, and with excess and addiction the two most powerful ways to do this are through disgust and catastrophe, the former being the focus of this vessel.
